ประวัติโดยสังเขปของภาควิชาชีววิทยา
ภาควิชาชีววิทยา ก่อตั้งขึ้นในปี พ.ศ. 2507 โดยแรกเริ่มมีคณาจารย์ประจำ
4 คน บุคลากรสนับสนุน 2 คน ภาควิชาชีววิทยาได้เริ่มต้นจากการเปิดสอนหลักสูตรวิทยาศาสตร์บัณฑิตสาขาวิชาชีววิทยา
ใน พ.ศ. 2507 โดยทำหน้าที่สอนและให้การบริการวิชาพื้นฐาน ของนักศึกษาวิทยาศาสตร์ และคณะต่างๆ โดยผลิตบัณฑิตรุ่นแรก
ในปี พ.ศ. 2511 จำนวน 9 คน ต่อมาภาควิชาได้พัฒนาและดำเนินการเปิดหลักสูตรสาขาวิชาต่างๆ ทั้งในระดับปริญญาตรี โท และเอก
จนในปัจจุบันมีหลักสูตรที่เปิดสอน รวมถึงหลักสูตรร่วม อยู่ 10 หลักสูตรดังนี้

Brief History of the Department of Biology
at Chiang Mai University
The Department of Biology at Chiang Mai University was established in 1964 with the University’s founding.
At first,
there were four faculty members and two supporting staff.
At the time of founding,
the department offered a Bachelor of Science in Biology, and basic biology courses to non-major students.
We congratulated the first cohort of nine graduates in 1968. Since that time,
the department has expanded and developed its biology curriculum.
Now there are 10 programs ranging from undergraduate to doctoral degrees in several disciplines in biology.
